Symptoms of a broken DC power jack:

On very rare occasions, part of the motherboard is broken that the DC jack attaches to. At that point you some options, including sending the laptop back or a quote on a replacement motherboard. If you choose not to have the laptop repaired, they will only charge you a standard diagnostic fee of $50 plus the shipping fee.
