Ohio Valley Christian Camp is a special place where young and old can become introduced to Jesus Christ, and can learn much more about Him.

This web page is primarily for document references and other information as needed by OVCC workers. Enough general information will also be posted below, however, that those finding this page by some unexpected route can see what the ministry is about, and inquire further if they desire. Contact: William Call, (270) 753-7870, or e-mail wcall@mchsi.com.

The primary purpose of OVCC is to provide a summer camping experience for youth that is Christ-centered, fun, and educational. The campground is located in far western Kentucky near Aurora, Kentucky, in a very rustic rural setting (see map). The grounds consist of about 47 acres of cedar, hickory, oak and walnut trees; from most of the camp there's not a house or highway in sight. Comfortable dormitory cabins, an assembly/kitchen building, an open-air pavilion, athletic fields, campfire area and outdoor class shelters round out the facilities. The camp is owned and operated by an association of independent Christian Churches in western Kentucky and southern Illinois. You may view the upcoming summer's OVCC camping schedule by clicking here.

Upcoming Events:

The campgrounds are reserved for a rental group on October 6 – 9.

Next OVCC Board meeting: Saturday, October 11, 2008; 9AM, at the Camp.

“Men’s Working Retreat” is Saturday, October 25, beginning at 8AM.  Details will be sent to the supporting churches.

The campgrounds are reserved for a rental group on October 31 – November 1.

Reservations are coming in already for next year!  We have a booking for May 31 – June 5, 2009 for a camp rental.

Except as listed in the OVCC Schedule and also immediately above, the Camp is available for retreats or other events you would like to schedule. Please let William Call know with plenty of advance notice, to avoid conflicts and problems.  If wintertime or early spring events are anticipated, please advise early; otherwise the dorms may be winterized and disconnected from electrical hookup.  We usually try to winterize in early November unless upcoming rentals have been scheduled.

Document resources that are currently available in Microsoft Word format, and/or in Adobe Acrobat pdf format (which gives a smaller file size for quicker download, and doesn't require Word--but does require the Acrobat Reader, and produces a file not easily edited):

New!  General OVCC trifold brochure.  This is useful for a general introduction to the mission and activities of the Camp.

Dean's Guidelines (revised Jan. 2008), also available in Adobe Acrobat pdf format.

Curriculum Guide, giving suggested topics of study for the various weeks of camp.  Also available in pdf format.

Schedule of camps and activities (2008 schedule in Word format, good for copy-and-paste into local documents).  Above is htm format.

2008 Camper registration form, in Adobe Acrobat (pdf) format for more accurate lining up.

Teenage Helper Registration form, only in pdf format because of form lineup considerations

Dean's Camp Report Form, only in pdf format because of form lineup considerations

2008 OVCC Camper's Booklet, only in pdf format (the original of this document is written in Microsoft Publisher; since this program may not be so available and because of large file size, this document is posted only in Adobe Acrobat pdf format.  This will have to be printed and assembled in order to be easily read.  The Registration Form is a separate document, listed above.)

Rental Policy document, which sets forth the provisions for other groups to rent the facility (like the Camp Booklet, it is posted only in pdf format. It will have to be printed and assembled in order to be easily read. If you already have an existing copy of the Rental Policy, the Rental Reservation form alone is available in either Word or pdf format)
