"Don't cry because it is over, smile because it happened!"

Remembering
Go ahead and mention my child. The one that died you know. Don't worry about hurting me further. The depth of my pain doesn't show. Don't worry about making me cry. I'm already crying inside. Help me to heal by releasing The tears I try to hide. I'm hurt when you just keep silent, Pretending she didn't exist. I'd rather you mention my child, Knowing that she is missed. You asked me how I was doing. I say "pretty good" or "fine". But healing is something ongoing. I feel it will take a lifetime.

Jessica Riley Warpehoski was born on May 4, 2002 with a condition known as Trisomy 18. Children born with Trisomy 18 have an extra 18th chromosone. Having an extra chromosone can cause many birth defects. Unfortunately, many of these children do not survive very long. Jessica was one of these special angels. She stopped here on earth so that Mommy and Daddy could hold her for an hour and thirty-six minutes.
That is truely the most precious hour and a half in our lives! We thank God for the time that he allowed us to have with her. She is now dancing with the angels.
