You will be making the background images like the ones that make up
this page :-)
Eye Candy 4000 Swirl Effect(Not available in the demo) is required to
make the Swirls & Blinds
background layer.

this tut for earlier versions of psp such as 7 and 8. The tools
you use might
look a bit
different or in different locations, but otherwise work the same.
Main (Top)
Background
Open a 100x100 transparent image
Flood fill with #d39dd2
Under Adjust:
Add 10% Uniform, Monochrome Noise
Effects>Image effects>Seamless Tiling
Corner, Bidirectional, Horizontal offset 2% Vertical offset 0%,
Transition 82%, Corner style; Linear OK.
Save as a gif.
Dark Strip
Open a 10x100 transparent image
Flood fill with #490148
Under Adjust:
Add 30% Uniform, Monochrome Noise
Effects>Image Effects>Seamless Tiling
Mirror, Vertical, Vertical offset 0, Width 57%
Transition 82% OK.
Save as a gif
Swirls &
Blinds
Open a 100x100 transparent image
Create a new gradient
Click on the gradient button then on Edit and New
On the left side, click on the little tag that is hanging down, then on
the color square.
Type #490148 in the HTML area.
Do the same on the right one but type #d39dd2 in the HTML area.
Name and save it.
Under Style click on the Sunburst making sure your
angle and repeat are at 0. The invert box should NOT be checked.
The Center points and Focal Points should all be 50 and No
Texture. OK
Flood fill the transparent image with the sunburst
gradient.
Effects>Texture Effects> Mosaic Glass
Settings are as follows;
Columns and rows, 50 Symmetric checked.
Glass curvature 82%
Edge curvature 9%
Grout width 4
Grout diffusion 40%
OK
Effects>Plugins>EyeCandy4000>Swirl
Settings as follows;
Whirlpool Spacing 90
Smear Length 28.80
Twist 75
Streak Detail 50
Seamless Tile checked
Random Seed 117
OK
Seamless Tiling as before, changing only one setting to Corner
Effects>Texture Effects>Blinds
Settings as follows
Width 2
Opacity 100
Color #490148
Light from left/top CHECKED
