Open a 20 x 200 Transparent Image

Click on the gradient button in Styles

Click on Edit

Then New

A pop up box will come up.  You need to name your gradient. then click OK.
OK now in the Gradient box, You see those little markers hanging below the long color strip?  Click the one on the left.  Then click on the color box and your eye dropper should appear.  make it whatever color you want.  For the purposes of this tutorial, I'm going to make a 3 tone gradient but you can make them as little as 2 colors and up to as many colors as you wish.

Click on the far right marker.  Click on the color box and change the color marker to whatever pleases you.

Now click right under the strip of color  I put mine somewhere in the middle.  You have created a new marker.

Click on it, then on the color box, change the color.
you can add as many colors to your gradient as you wish by adding new markers and changing the colors of each marker.  if you dont like one, you can remove it by clicking on it with the mouse and dragging it off the gray area.  you can slide the markers back and forth to change the gradient and like I said, you can add more.  When you're done, click OK.

You can change the transparency of your gradients with the lower one.  Change the opacity to whatever suites your needs.  You can add markers to the transparency also and have it more transparent in some areas then others.

Mess around with it.  Have fun!  You can always undo something you dont like.  You will be joining gradient anonymous very soon!  I'll see you there!  LOL
