Tracer Frequently
Asked Questions
Nobody has asked any questions yet (still waiting for world wide fame)
but if they did I bet they would ask these.
-
What is Tracer?
Tracer is a take off of the Tron light cycles. Ships (or whatever you
want them to be) leave colored traces behind them. The object is to avoid
hitting a trace while trying to trap your opponent into a smaller space
than the one you're in.
-
What do I need to play Tracer?
You will need 3 things. First you will need the Atari800Win
emulator. Second you will need the Atari operating system image. You will
be able to find that at the same site as the emulator or as the author
of the emulator says "you just might find them here"
or here. And of course you will need Tracer.
-
How do I operate Tracer?
All of these instructions apply to the Atari800Win program Version
2.4 by Richard Lawrence
F2 will select 1 or 2 player mode, pressing F2 during the game will
return you to the start up screen
F3 will select the level of difficulty when in 1 player mode and the
number of rounds to play in 2 player mode
F4 will start the game, Pressing F4 during the game will restart it
Numeric Keys 1-9 will set the bonus level in 1 player, keys 1-3 will
set the speed in 2 player
To control the ship using the keyboard use the numeric keypad, 0 for
fast speed (same as the joystick trigger)
To play 2 player you will either need 2 joysticks ( I assume, I don't
have 2) or you can set one stick to a joystick and the other player will
have to use the keyboard
-
How do I start the 2 player game?
Either player must press the fire button on the joy stick or the 0
key on the keypad
