The Phelan Family

From us to you:

Hi! Thanks for stopping by.

We, like many others, are just feeling our way along here as we try to find how to express ourselves and develop an identity in this new world of on-line technology. Along this journey we'll continue to experiment with new commands and changing looks until we find something we really like. Of course, the possibility exists that this will never happen, but then, half the fun of a journey is in the travel.

Whether or not we reach a final destination one thing is for sure. This is supposed to be fun for us and hopefully of some interest to you. Let us know if we succeed in some small way.

Here's what's available so far.

Trip 2000

This is a picture of my '68/'69 Datsun 2000 Roadster. I am in the process of restoring this car to it's original condition. If you follow the link below you can find out more about me and this car. You can also follow along with my experiences while I travel across country on a quest to get this car restored.

I hope to be able to post updates as to where I am and how I'm doing as I drive from Long Island, New York to Vista, California. I will try to do this on a somewhat daily basis but this will be controlled by the availability of internet access more than anything else. I also hope to be able to put some pictures on these pages so you can see some of the places I visit on the way out. It will be interesting to see if this actually works.

I have not picked an actual start date as of yet but it will be sometime before the end of May. Hope to see you on the road.

During the past year the health demon dropped by to pay us a visit. Exercise was definitely needed, so wanting to work out but not wanting to stay in one place biking popped up as an alternative. Since then, Rita, my son Tom and I have tried some bike tours. Actually, these should be called more appropriately events. The streets were closed to all traffic and thousands of cyclists took over.

Visit this page and meet us and some of our friends that rode in the Long Island Bike Tour and the 5 Boro Bike Tour. This last tour had over 35,000 bikes participating. I have never seen that many bikes in one place at one time.

I have been playing games on the PC ever since I got my first PC back in the mid 80's. It was an Atari 800 and I thought it was real cool since it had a tape drive. Then we really got excited when I was able to add a floppy disk drive. Hard to believe where we have come in the past 13 years.

Over the years I've collected quite a few software titles. I need to make room for new stuff and hate to just throw out these ... Sooooo ... How about some used PC Games

Rita teaches piano and has composed her own music and lessons for her students. She has also become proficient in the use of a sheet music desk top publishing program. If you are a musician or composer and have been jotting your scores down in pencil, maybe Rita can help you format and print your music with Music DTP
