The Triumph TR-4, the best of the Sport Triumphs.

My other TR-4. This one is a late '62. The original color was Signal Red, but now it shows at least three other colors. In its life it has been Signal Red, Maroon, White, and Silver. Now it is mostly Primer color. This Car is currently up on jack stands, and is my primary project. I hope to have pics of this project on the page shortly.

This view shows the lines of the original Surrey Top. A Surrey Top is a two piece Hardtop. The center or Roof (or Hood) lifts off, leaving the back window and frame attached to the car. Or, optionally, the rear window and frame can be removed transforming the car into a true Roadster. (Although would the roll-up side windows exclude it from the roadster category from the get-go?)

This car has the same hand crank hole in the grill that all TR-4s have. But it does not have the square hole in the radiator that is needed to use the hand crank. At the time this car was made (July 1962?) this radiator was a special order option, and one that not many people opted for.
