Bubba The Pot-Bellied Pig's Page.
This is Bubba the Pig, in a standard pose....asleep. Behind the cat pole in this case. At night he sleeps in a cupbaord in the 2nd Bathroom with his favorite blanket.
Bubba is six years old and about 10 inches (26cm) high, and 21 lbs (10 Kg). Here he is going after a target of opportunity, and he is just as high as that 2 liter bottle.
Controlling a Pot-bellied pigs size is just a matter of controlling its feeding. If you free feed them they get very large. Bubba's brother (we see him every now and then) is about 150 lbs (70 Kg) because he gets fead every time he begs for food.
But unfortunately some people have taken this (controlling the food intake) to extremes and undernourished their pigs in an attempt to produce very small pigs. The genes have to be there also.
Yes he has tusk. They can get quite long and sharp, so we keep them trimmed down to a couple of inches. Good thing he is mellow or they would stay trimmed to nubs. Those tusk can get sharp enough to slice the couch as he walks past if you let them. We waited a tad to long the first time and found out first-hand.
