F-16 Fighting Falcon The Early Years

Welcome to F-16 Fighting Falcon The Early Years. Here you'll find images and information on the early testing and development of the F-16 Fighting Falcon Multi-Role Tactical Fighter. The majority of the testing of the F-16 took place at Edwards Air Force Base California. I was a member of what was then called the F-16 Joint Test Force for 16 years. This web site is a general guide through the development of the F-16 from Proto Type to the Full Stage Development period and on to the early Production Model development.

I started on the project as a member of General Dynamics Fort Worth Division in 1978, the manufacturer of the F-16. In the early 90's General Dynamics sold their Fort Worth Division to Lockheed, which later became Lockheed Martin. Unfortunately in late 1993 I was forced to retire due to health reasons. My days working in the F-16 test program at Edwards Air Force Base were some of the most memorable days of my life. I had the opportunity to work with many very skilled people in all different fields of the test task force. I also made many very good friends. As well I had the opportunity work with very fine Air Force personnel who were assigned to the test program. They were indeed a credit to the Uniform they wore as well as a credit to the United States Of America.
