Tom & canoe after first coat of resin


Here's Tom, after the first coat of resin has been applied.  This coat was over the bare wood, but didn't include the cloth.  Its purpose was to prevent the bare wood from absorbing too much resin when the cloth was applied.  The "milky" look in this photo is deceiving.  In real life, it's clear as glass.
