I'm coming up on my 19th trip to Oshkosh in my Q-200. My aviation highlight this year was entering the EAA's Air Venture Cup Race . (Click the link to see full race results). Again, the race was shortened to 500 miles to try and avoid the historical weather delays. What a blast! The first year year I was 2nd out of three planes. The second year I was 4th in a field of twelve. I guess that's an improvement.

Last year I placed three out of five planes and I think I was faster! My course speed was 200.3 mph. Last year's speed was published as 201, but we had more headwinds this year.

It was just great hanging around my little plane, visiting with old friends that stopped by and making new ones. It was particularly intresting meeting guys who had purchased a kit somewhere and didn't know much about their aircraft, or the Quickie Builders Association. I hope they tie into our network. 

Last year, at Oshkosh, I received my "This Homebuilt has Been Flying for 20 Years" tag. The first flight was on June 9, 1986.
