Board Meeting Minutes
Nov 21, 2011
The Sheffield Village Board met 7pm
on Monday, Nov 21, 2011, at the Sheffield Community Center.
Present: Mayor William Rosenow,
Trustees, Wesley Barron, Harley Barton, Sue Bromme, Chester Fritz, Adrienne
Ries Keith VanderMeersch, Clerk: Pat Stier and Treasurer: Joyce Cranford
Absent: none
Board Motions:
- To approve
the minutes from the Nov 7 (Ries / Fritz)
Motion passed 6-0
- To
approve bills for $24,299.28 (Barton/ Fritz) Motion passed 6-0
- To approve
Treasurers report (VanderMeersch / Barron) Motion passed 6-0
- To
approve Music on Main using Main St for July 21, 2012 (Fritz /VanderMeersch)
Motion passed 6-0
- To
approve sidewalk work at 435 and 439 S Washington St.

Public –
- Sheila
Yepsen representing Music on Main approached the
board requesting that Music on Main be able to use Main St on the 3
Saturday of each July. Board passed
a motion to allow Music on Main to use Main St on July 21, 2012. They will need to approach the board in
the future about the use of Main St.
Yepsen had a list of other requests, the
Mayor requested that she return for the first board meeting in January and
the board will go over the other requests at that time.
- Yepsen also requested that the board open a bank
account at the bank for the purpose of depositing donations for new
playground equipment in Veteran’s/School Park that a group of citizens are
trying to raise money to purchase.
Treasurer will open the account.
Buildings and Grounds -
- Mayor
received a call from Jake Osborn on Friday, Nov 18 requesting that the
village pay for 1/2 cement for the sidewalks being poured at 435 and 439 S
Washington. The work was being on
today, Monday, Nov 21 and should have been approved by the board before
the work was done. Board passed a
motion to approve the request.
Cemetery –
Finance/Band Committee –
- Treasurer
gave report on three different ways to borrow the remaining funds for the
grant.
Ordinance and Resolutions –
Complaint Committee –
- There
are still some residents burning leaves on Sundays and Mondays.
Police Committee –
Streets and Alleys Committee –
- Burton
Doty and Richard Constantine have approached the Mayor regarding trees on
Village property that need to be removed.
In both cases the trees have been trimmed by the power company and
make the property look bad and if the trees were blown over they could do
damage to the houses on those properties.
Board instructed the Mayor to have Leif Porter get three bids to
remove the trees.
Water Committee -
Garbage & Sewer Committee –
- There
will be no garbage pickup on Friday, Nov 25, due to Thanksgiving,
garbage will be picked up on Monday.
Other business –

- Report

mowers away for the winter
- Had
a water main break along highway
- Water
meter read
- Plow
and plow trucks ready to go
- Bell’s
fixed red pickup truck, lights and wipers
- Tires
ordered for tractor
- No
garbage pick-up on Nov 25, will pick up on Monday, Nov 28

The next board meeting will be held on Monday, November 21,
2011 at 7 PM at the Sheffield Community Center.
