Board Meeting Minutes

June 15, 2009

 

 

The Sheffield Village Board met Monday, June 15, 2009 at the Sheffield Community Center. 

 

The minutes from the June 1, 2009 meeting were read and approved, with correction of spelling of Brent Barnett name.

 

Board approved

  • bills and treasurers report
  • the prevailing wage ordinance  2009-06-15
  • use of the Veterans/School Park by the Methodist Church for movies in the park
  • the removal of dead branches in a couple of trees

 

Committee meetings scheduled are:

  • Ordinance committee, Monday, June 23, 3:00pm at the community center.
  • Police committee, Tuesday, July 7, 6:00pm at the community center.

 

Attorney Tracy informed the board that Williams had requested and was granted an extension on the property court case.

 

There was discussion on TIFF districts. Mayor Rosenow has been approached by developers that are interested in a TIFF district.

 

Engineer Synder reported that Sheffield has been awarded $60,000 from the State Capital Development monies.  The village will receive a letter from the state giving details.

 

Board table action on painting and/or siding the storage building in alley.

 

Superintendent Porter’s report stated that Nate Johnson will be driving for his CDL license on Friday.  Luke Lanxon is doing an internship and will not be working for the village this summer.

 

Trustee Ries noted that the Community Center building will need to be re-roofed in the next 5 years.

 

Trustee Cernovich reported that after the Homecoming Parade, 45 people toured the old town hall on Main St.

 

Rosenow informed the board that Sheffield had been denied on the grant application for a police car. 

 

The next board meeting will be held on Monday, July 6, 2009 at the Sheffield Community Center.
