The Facts about Retinoblastoma
Retinoblastoma is a cancer of the eye. The tumors form in the retina, the part of the eye responsible for detecting light and color. Retinoblastoma is caused by an abnormal gene, which can be hereditary. It is usually noticeable at birth to two-months-old with a dilated eye exam by an ophthalmologist. However, this vital procedure is rarely performed in most doctors’ offices. Please consider asking your child's doctor to perform a dilated eye exam. You could be saving your child's sight!
