After graduating from Roosevelt University with a journalism degree, Sandy started working at a small radio station in Elmhurst (WKDC -- 1530 AM) that played nothing but show tunes. Gotta start somewhere.

Next, she worked as a reporter and news anchor for WJOL-AM in Joliet covering local stories, police beat, park board and school board. From there she went to Aurora to work as a news anchor and afternoon talk host for WMRO-AM.

She eventually became part of the news staff at Satellite Music Network, a groundbreaking network that broadcast live programming 24-hours a day via satellite to more than 600 stations nationwide and in the Caribbean. At the same time, she also began news anchoring for Chicago's news station, WBBM-AM and did freelance work for WLS-AM and WGN-AM.
