My 2005 Dodge Magnum RT.  What’s your question?  Oh, the answer is “You’re about to find out…”

We ordered this car on September 18th, 2004.  Normally, we would never buy a new car due to the depreciation you’re immediately hit with, but because of the Friends and Affiliates Discount that I get through my work, I was able to get this car at 1% below Factory Invoice, plus the $1000 back from Chrysler Financing.  In all, we paid $5,000 below MSRP.

After deciding on the Electronic Convenience Group, Convenience Group II, Protection Group, and the 6 CD/MP3/Cassette Stereo, we were torn between Bright Silver and Magnesium Pearl.  Then the feeling that it’s traditional for MOPAR to offer weird and cool colors hit us, and we decided to go with the Magnesium.  Is it green?  Is it gray?  It depends on the lighting.  In any case, this car is incredibly cool and very fast.

We were given a timeframe of 6-12 weeks for the car to arrive, and 10 weeks and 3 days later, it was here!  It had just 8 miles on the odometer and a full tank of gas.  I took it out for a quick test drive and confirmed that it would indeed smoke the tires from a dead stop with the traction control off.  So far, I’ve put in some rubber floor mats to protect the carpet from the Missouri weather. I've also added a K&N drop-in air filter, tinted the front windows to match the back, removed some badges, and added a Zoomer exhaust system.

The front windows have been tinted to match the back.

Ready to go!

New RT badge and license plate.

It was very windy that day, so the smoke was blowing away before we could get a good stationary picture.

Getting sideways.

Evidence of the electronically-controlled limited slip differential.

Along side one of the new Chargers - also Magnesium Pearl.

Before you ask, no they aren't real.  They are just some Lund scoops I laid on the hood for the picture.  Attention vendors: please make this hood!
