Polk City History

I've been doing research into Polk City History for more than a dozen years. Several family histories are saved in the Polk City library. I've even written some histories, two of which are still in print. Brave Men Shouldered Their Muskets is about the men from Madison Township who served in the Civil War. Civil War Book catalogue online. The catalogue carries my civil war book and will be handling printing overruns of Leonard Brown's American Patriotism.
See the introduction to the reprint for Leonard Brown's "American Patriotism", republished by the Friends of the library through a grant from Prairie Meadows Racetrack & Casino. The book is being donated to every library in Polk County by the Friends of the Library.
This log cabin is an interesting piece of Polk City History. Originally the Nueswander cabin, it still stands...sort of.... North of town.
