The following file was scanned from the book "James and Margaret (Pickens) Findley, Pioneers of Monroe County Iowa", compiled by Phyllis Franzen of Newton, Iowa. The book was published in 1981 by the Anundsen Publishing Co., Decorah, Iowa. I used an HPScanjet 3200C to scan, OmniPage Pro10 OCR software to convert to text and WordPerfect 6.1 to edit. All margins are 1", the font is Times New Roman and the size is 12pt. I have not maintained the paging as in the original. Some maps and charts did not scan well enough to be included. I have a copyright to this file and give permission for this file to be posted to any site that offers free access to all provided proper acknowledgement is given to Phyllis Franzen and Marion Rice. Copying to any medium for the purpose of profit is strictly prohibited. This prohibition pertains to all photographs, text files, and graphics. Phyllis Franzen has given permission for this file to be placed on the Internet. In a work of this size there are bound to be errors. If significant errors are found, e-mail them to me.
