Things FileMaker--
The School District I work for believes that they own my work. Check it out here. It is hard to believe that there is a lot that can be copyrighted in a FM template, but who wants to pay a lawyer to find out?
So directly sharing files is out of the question.
This is a very un-FileMaker-community-like situation. Most of the developers I know would be more than happy to tell or show you how they did it by giving away demo files.
I do think I can tell you what I have found useful in FileMaker:
ID numbers. Treating people like a number is not OK, but using numbers to keep them straight is.
Portals and Two File Solutions. A little like Cinderella. One file does all the work, the other just looks pretty.
Using a calculation to set what you see in a portal.
Using Quicktime to play media. When you need something other than iTunes.
Where the help is. Books, publications and discussion groups.
