On the left side of the main window is the multi accessible Animal List. The list content will change depending upon which options have been chosen in the drop-down lists below the list. The left dropdown allows you to choose which animals the list will include (All, only Females, only Males, etc.) and the right list lets you choose how to show them (Full Name, Nickname ID Tags). To choose an animal from the list, simply click on the name or ID. If the animal is female, double clicking will take you to the Pregnancy window for the female. When an animal is chosen, a summary will appear in the box below the list to aid in positively identifying the animal.
The right side of the main window contains the Reminders Grid. The Reminders Grid contains the day by day tasks and individual animal requirements. Here you will see any reminder items that are current. The grid will show only the reminders that fit the reminder type and reminder date criteria as chosen from the drop-down lists above the grid on the right. When a reminder task is checked off as complete, it may be archived to the database for later retrieval as a report history item. New reminders are created by choosing an animal from the Animal List and clicking on the Reminder button.
Across the bottom of the main window is the Navigation Bar. These buttons move you through the other windows of the program. An animal must be selected in the Animal List to activate most of these buttons. The selected animal must be female to enable the Pregs button. The buttons from left to right are:
Across the top of the main window is the Menu Bar. These menus allow you to choose Program Setup options, view Reports and access the Help file. Context sensitive help can also be accessed at any time from anywhere in the program by pressing the < F1 > key. Of special note on the menu bar is the Lists menu item. Breed-Assist makes extensive use of lists. These lists of frequently used terms (such things as Colors, Markings, Medicines, Procedures etc.) must be entered only one time. They are then saved to a database to be accessible at various places throughout the program in dropdown lists, making data entry quick and easy instead of continually typing the same items over and over again.
