Our pastor, M.D. Mcguire, asked me to write a letter about our altars.
today is Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday. He was remembered as saying, "I have a dream."
Pastor M.D. Mcguire also has said, "I have a dream of souls and families being touched and drawn to Jesus through prayer." He saw an old altar at a funeral of a brother in Christ, Dan Moody Watson. Everything we believe starts in prayer and God's Word.
I don't know who started this saying, "Those who pray together, stay together", but just think about it!! It makes great sense doesn't it!? A family in our church brought one of these altars to another family who was having marriage problems and talking about divorce. They were so happy to receive their altar and began to pray. As a result they stopped their divorce proceedings and are now using the altar to pray together...isn't god good?! Yes!! We are praying that this will spread to all churches and that we will see a mighty revival of souls come to God!!!
To those who are cast down and caught up in things that have them bound, please know that God can deliver them if they turn to Him; He can deliver the poor and rich alike! Amen!!
Prayer is the answer: 1 thessalonians 3- 7 pray without ceasing!
After telling our story to doctors in Tyler, TX, at Allied Pain Center, they asked for us to bring them altars for their homes. Dr. Sherry and her colleagues pray about their patients and it made her so happy when we brought them to her. Also, there was a secretary who overheard the story. You could tell she wanted one, so I asked her if she would like an altar and she said, "I'm sure there are more worthy people than me to have one." This felt like a knife to my heart. I told her there is none worthy, save one, and His name is Jesus! we told her we would bring her and another doctor their altar next month. They thanked and thanked us.
I know there are other churches building altars for their people and families as well. God has blessed us with the wood, which was donated by a business that one of our men works for. What a wonderful God we serve! Lewis Price worked hard on most of the first altars made while others helped put them together. God bless them!!
Our prayer is that anyone who wants to pray will receive one and use it in their home. If they choose to make a contribution, an altar fund has been set up for this exact purpose!
We are asking God for wisdom to help our prayer lives and he will draw many souls!! Some things just come from prayer and fasting. A lady in our church just came off a seven day fast for our sister in Christ, Betty. She has done this before and prayed for all of us. I pray we pick up the pace and follow to see God work His miracles. May God use these altars to remind us that we have a higher source to go to. God bless and keep us all!!
Your Sister In Christ,
Marcie Levy Hill!! :)
