A Quick Simple Pinhole Camera

Nick has made his pinhole by carefully pushing the tip of the pin into the aluminum using an eraser as a safe backer.  Pushing it all the way through would make the pinhole too large.  But pins bend and needles tend to snap off under too much pressure, so I go with the safer straight pins.

  Nick sands the burred side.

Nick gently inserts the pin into the hole and spins the pin to clear small parts of metal that might have gone back in during the sanding.

We check the aperture to see if it is clean and round.

Nick sticks some masking tape on the bottom half of the lens to help hold it in place on the camera as he lines it up.

Nick has lined up the pinhole by centering it in the 1/4" punched hole.  Masking tape holds well and stays on longer in hot weather.
