Who am I?

My name is Matt Clemons and I'm 40 years old and I manage an Arby's in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Bored yet? Ok, enough of that kind of shit. When I'm not at work I build models. I build a rather obscure type of models called Garage Kits. These are large scale (1/8 to 1/1) figures from movies and TV. They get the name Garage Kit from the fact that they started out being produced out of someone's garage. They are made of vinyl (same stuff as your dashboard) or resin. Most of my kits come from movies that I enjoy watching. To me, this is a way of keeping a piece of the movie in my home. I've been doing this seriously for about the last 4 years and am now writing for a magazine called Model Maniacs.

I also attend several conventions a year with my favorite being Wonderfest in Kentucky. Every year, my best friend, Thad Rhodes and I make the 8 hour trek to Louisville to act foolish, not sleep, and spend massive amounts of money on these little beauties. I have picked, much to my wallet's detriment, one of the most expensive types of models to build.
When I'm not modeling or thinking about modeling, I'm usually watching movies (mostly horror) or watching documentaries on TV. I hate sitcoms and view the entire cast of "Friends" as personal enemies.
I am also a member of the Alexander Lippisch chapter of the IPMS (International Plastic Modeler's Society) here in Cedar Rapids. The other guys in the club tend to build military stuff, but they enjoy seeing the weird stuff that I bring to the meetings...especially if it's got big hooters. I am also the Editor of the club newsletter.

That's about it. Basically, I'm a 40 year old kid.
