I would like to let you know a little about Kurt. He was a wonderful and precious 6 year old with a great curiosity about life. He was very bright and was doing well after a rough start in a new school. He did his very best to earn praise from his teacher and always brought to her attention when the class deserved praise.
Kurt was a very active boy. He liked Batman and had many characters to play with. He also loved any of the Star Trek and Star Wars shows as well. He was really big into playing pogs and I was fortunate to have played pogs with him. I know he was so happy to have played with his Dad. Kurt was taking karate lessons when he died. It was a joy to see him in the gym with all the other kids trying to learn something that he liked.
Kurt's favorite color was purple, his favorite food was chicken and his favorite tv shows were the Simpsons, any Star Trek show, and the X Files. He loved animals and I have fond memories of Kurt sitting on Grandpa's lap watching Wild America. He also loved trains as much as I did. He could name off all the railroad names when we would look at my magazines when he was just two. He was just getting into taking pictures like his dad and loved going out to see trains in action.
He also cared very much for his sisters Emily and Tana. He never fought with his younger sister Tana. He always played with her when she wanted to play. He would play the little kids games with her and he also kept an eye out for her. Kurt and Emily did all the big kid things. They made forts in the bedrooms and played ball together. Now that Kurt is gone, Emily and Tana have very little in common and they have a hard time playing together.
We are going to miss Kurt very much. This is the hardest thing a parent could ever go through and we will always be reminded every day. Events will happen in the future and we will think that Kurt would have been doing this or would he have done this or that. We have to live with our loss til the day we die and then we will be with Kurt again.
