The Origin of Operation Tango Mike

This effort began in 2003 when an individual began sending care packages and support to co-workers who were recalled to active duty. The soldiers returned safely home, and she continued sending packages and support to strangers. The recipients weren't really strangers as they are OUR troops. Today, the effort has evolved into a community project and sends support to troops in harm's way. "TANGO MIKE" is the equivalent of "Thanks Much" in military jargon.
