ONE is an interdenominational ministry that exists to connect Christian singles in Central Illinois for the purpose of building friendships and growing in their faith journey together.
ONE participants represent a broad range of ages and life stages, as well as diverse church/denominational backgrounds and varied levels of personal and spiritual maturity. Following the example of Jesus Christ, who loved the very least of us, we too need to make the effort to be inclusive of everyone by extending grace, showing compassion, and reinforcing the dignity of each person we interact with at ONE events.
However, ONE also recognizes that there will be some who attend our events who seek more than Christian fellowship and spiritual growth. In this respect, ONE will not tolerate repeated occurrences of inappropriate behavior, including unwanted advances towards another person, or physical or verbal contact that causes another person to feel uncomfortable. While each individual has the responsibility to communicate discomfort and set boundaries to the offender, there may be times when it is necessary to involve ministry leadership to intervene and/or take appropriate action. ONE is guided by principles outlined in John 17:20-21. Each participant is also encouraged to apply these same principles in their individual lives: Keep focused on the simple message of Jesus Christ; show others the way to eternal life; bring glory to God through our words and actions; and persevere in doing the work God has given us to do. Our prayer is that you will experience a deeper relationship with Christ as a result.
