The Writ of Summons

IN THE NAME OF THE MOST PUISSANT AND AUGUST PRINCE HIS AUGUST MAJESTIE BY THE GRACE OF THE VALAR OF GONDOR AND ARNOR THE KING CHIEFTAIN OF THE DUNEDAIN LORD OF ANDUNIE BEARER OF THE STAR OF THE NORTH WIELDER OF ANDURIL CAPTAIN OF THE HOST OF THE WEST AND DEFENDER OF THE FIVE PEOPLES,

The Most Noble and Potent Prince Eugene, Duke of Minhiriath, Marquess of Mirkwood, Earl of Enedwaith,  Viscount Calenhad, Baron Calenhad, Baronet; Knight of the Most Noble Order of the Flame of Anor,  Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of Elbereth, Grand Commander of the Most Illustrious Order of Beren and Luthien, Freeman of the Shire, Lord Great Steward of Gondor and Arnor, Governor-General of the Fourth Administrative Area,  Shirrif of the Shire,

To His August Majestie's Councillor-General GREETING and the King's Peace!

Inasmuch as it is our bounden duty and service as Lord Great Steward of Gondor and Arnor for divers reasons and in accordance with an Act of the Twenty-fifth Council-General to summon the King 's Council-General  to confer and consider certain important matters affecting the Realms and

Whereas by virtue of our Great Office we are empowered to summon the King's Council-General,

NOW THEREFORE WE EUGENE Duke of Minhiriath and Lord Great Steward of Gondor and Arnor  in view of circumstances the which we will set before you at the time and the place hereinafter to be named  request you by the faith you bear to the Crown enjoining you to be yourself personally present at  Olivers Saloon, 531 Main Street, Laurel, Maryland, at two of the clock in the afternoon upon Sunday the ninth day of August Nineteen Hundred and Ninety Eight  and there to treat and have conference with the great men and women and peers of the Realms, in which you failing, we require you to show cause why you should by the said Council-General be excused.

And all of these things the weightiness of the said affairs and imminent perils considered  as you regard the safety and defense of these Realms of Gondor and Arnor and  the security of all of Middle-earth in no wise do you omit.

Given at Minhiriath Manor this 30 day of the month of June in the seven thousand five hundred and fifty first year of this Fourth Age of Middle-earth.
