The Mobile Kennel Club is an all breed dog club,
licensed by the American Kennel Club.
It is a non-profit organization, established in 1921, to further the advancement of pure bred dogs. The purpose of the Mobile Kennel Club is to promote pure-bred dogs through proper care and careful breeding. We conduct two all-breed shows on the third weekend of November. We also plan matches, and other dog related events. We also publish a Breeder's Directory and maintain a list of responsible breeders in the area. We also include under the various breeds, members who can provide information about their breeds, after all we love to talk about our dogs. The Mobile Kennel Club provides educational information for interested dog owners and enthusiasts through programs and speakers invited to our meetings. Our monthly meetings are held on the first Wednesday, 7:00 PM at Village Animal Clinic, 5500 Cottage Hill Rd, Dr. Roxy Leslie's office. Membership in MKC is open to anyone interested in the advancement or pure-bred dogs. Members subscribe to the Code of Ethics and, after attending two club meetings, are visited by two members, then voted on by the general membership. Individuals do not need to own a pure-bred dog to become a member. Membership is not limited to residents of Mobile or even Alabama. We also have members who live in Mississippi, Florida, and Louisiana. Email us for more information. |
