Secret as the Grave

This story begins in Season 7 shortly after “Showtime” and goes AU immediately.  However, it’s based on ideas I had before seeing “Showtime,” so there isn’t complete continuity with that episode. 

Chapter 11, Paradise, can be read as a standalone if you want some sappy romantic stuff, but don't want to deal with a convoluted plot to get there.  It's also a lot lighter in tone than the fic as a whole.

My apologies to Joss Whedon, Mutant Enemy, and everyone else who has far more right to these characters than I do.
