Artist's Statement
I began my career at the age of 17 setting stones for O.C.Tanner in Salt Lake City, Utah for 2 years. From there I apprenticed as a bench jeweller with two different masters for roughly 3 years. During this time I taught myself different Goldsmithing techniques because Goldsmithing itself was and still is a dying art. At this time I also taught myself how to manipulate wax and design jewellery for commercial consumption....
I then opened my own business as a jeweller and a manufacturer of jewellery. My work has won honers in national competions and has been featured in the National Jeweler, Modern Jeweler and the Jewelers Circular Keystone as well as two pages for nine years in the country's leading jewellery manufacturing company, Stuller Settings.
I branched off from there to begin making master models for the industry as well as to create my own line of reproducible pieces as well as many one of a kinds. Pretty cool, huh?
In Stullers mountings catalog, there are many of my designs featured in their catalog as well as in other manufacturer's catalogs.
At the same time, I have been teaching myself many more Goldsmithing techniques.
