Fayette County Master Gardeners

Things to do at the Fair, July 25 - 29:

• Visit the Master Gardeners' booth and answer a question on the Wheel.
• Wednesday, noon - 9 p.m. - Ask a Master Gardener your gardening questions. Experts will be available in the booth.
• Check out the vegetable and flower exhibits.
• Friday 1 p.m. - See a demonstration on casting cement leaves for birdbaths or garden decoration. At the Dance Pavilion.

Master Gardener of the Month -

Pat Baumler's Master Gardener project was to design and maintain flower beds for the enjoyment of the residents at Maple Crest Manor.

What is a Master Gardener?

Master Gardeners are residents of a community who take an active interest in horticulture. They receive training in horticulture through the ISU Extension Service. In return for their training, Master Gardeners volunteer in community and Extension programs and projects related to horticulture.

Anyone with an interest in horticulture and gardening is eligible to become a Master Gardener. He or she should also have a willingness to share their knowledge and experience with others in the community.
