Christmas Bear

Whenever you hurt,
feel sad or alone;
hug me,
nurture me -
your Christmas Bear.

I'll bear all of it for you.
I am your child
crying in the night,
I am the woman
lying in wait of fear.

I have been blessed
with a special power;
have had the hands
of a child of God ask.

I am your Christmas Bear,
Jesus came and shed his blood
that you might have life everlasting.
Never forget that the "Christ" in
Christmas is for everyday.

Whatever you ask in the name of Jesus
and believe, it shall be done.
I am your Christmas Bear.
I am here to remind you of all of this.

Love,

Margaret

I wrote this poem for my mother to go with a teddy bear I gave her on her last Christmas. She kept it beside her until the end.

"A mother is a mother still, The holiest thing alive."
-Samuel Taylor Coleridge
