Prior to her first sale, she was a Romance Writers of America Golden Heart finalist twice and a winner once, in the Long Contemporary category. In 2003, her books won first in the Aspen Gold, first in the Write Touch Reader's Award, third in the Write Touch Readers Award, honorable mention in the Colorado Award of Excellence, and were finalists in the Holt Medallion and Golden Quill contests.
