What the Reviewers Say
Just One Season in London"...a veritable feast. With its triple romance and delightful characters, this comedy of errors is both a bit of love and laughter and a poignant romance. Michaels manages her triptych with ease and readers move between the plotlines eagerly awaiting what will happen next." -- RT Book Reviews, 4 stars
A delightfully entertaining read, JUST ONE SEASON IN LONDON is a witty,
sensual historical romance that will grab readers from the very beginning and
hold on until the end. Gifted author Leigh Michaels does an amazing job of
allowing the reader to know exactly what is going on with all three members of
the Ryecroft family at all times without confusing the reader, yet keeping them
informed. The story is told in such a way that the three Ryecrofts are steadily
moving toward obtaining their goal, each secretly following their own plan and
weaving their own web of lies. Although the Ryecrofts may be ready for London,
London may not be ready for the Ryecrofts! Brimming with humor, clever repartee,
sizzling love scenes, engaging characters and heartwarming emotions, this story
is a treasure…definitely a wonderful addition to the keeper shelf. I highly
recommend JUST ONE SEASON IN LONDON. Do not miss it!
Leigh Michaels has a knack for bringing characters to life in a thoroughly entertaining way. Highly talented at telling stories, the author introduces you to people, rather than characters, in a setting that will seem all too real and believable... Until the very end I was unsure of the outcome for the characters I had come to love... reminiscent of Jane Austen. -- Jessica Hastings, Suite 101
Reading this book, full of three-dimensional characters, fast pacing and witty dialogue, I felt like I was watching a movie. Scenes were flowing seamlessly into a wonderful story. ... JUST ONE SEASON IN LONDON also has nuances of Shakespeare by way of the confusion, consequent misunderstandings, and assumptions... If you’re in a mood for a fun and entertaining read, please don’t pass this one up. You’ll laugh so much your sides will hurt. -- Melanie Friedman Romance Reader At Heart
I laughed, I sighed and I did my very best to steer the charismatic Ryecroft family in the right direction. Lucky for them, Ms. Michaels had their stories all planned out and it was terrific to sit back and watch. If beautiful settings, clever dialogue and heartwarming love stories are what you’re in the mood for then Just One Season in London is a true can’t miss. Move it to the top of your TBR, you won’t be sorry! -- Honeysuckle, Long and Short Reviews
Well paced and well composed; the story breezed by weaving a light tale filled with depth. I found myself constantly turning the page eager to see what happened next. This was an outstanding novel that pulled me in and did not release me until the last page. Would I read it again? Definitely! -- Angela Renee, The Royal Reviews
The Mistress' House3 stories about Love and Relationships (Relationship Advice for Women)
Michaels' writing is sharp, capturing the feel and authenticity of historical London. Her descriptions easily transport the reader to another time and place. The dialogue was crisp and engaging... The characterization is the richest part of the novel. Each heroine has her reasons for what motivates her. Each hero is set in his ways and is deliciously undone by the circumstances they find themselves in. The novel is intense for romance readers. Michaels' loves scenes are tasteful and sensual. She excels at sexual tension. Michaels had me as soon as Anne told Thorne to ruin her. I simply did not want to put this book down. http://goarticles.com/article/Book-Review-for-The-Mistress-House/4475514/
... full of arrogant, yet gentlemanly, men and beautiful, yet spunky, women... The Mistress' House is wonderful for women on the go, simply because it's three books in one and you can take a pause between them, if you absolutely have to. A crucial point for this novel is that three tales intertwine and weave themselves together, flowing effortlessly one to the other, without seeming like an anthology of short stories. It doesn't miss a beat before connecting the love tales together and that is important when considering what makes this novel so great. The dialogue is always highly diverting between these spunky women and the lone wolves that they ensnare, and the passionate heat between them is turned up to an incredibly hot level. Another thing worth mentioning is the tenderness in these three alpha-males that captivate these high-spirited women. The male characters think themselves unmatchable loners, ungentlemanly and arrogant, yet they each have an endearing tenderness that captivates these equally unmatchable women. There are surprising scenes, touching moments and heart-quickening events that make this novel one that will stand out from the author's previous works and become a book you will want to share with everyone you know. -- Jessica Hastings http://www.suite101.com/content/the-mistress-house--a-historical-romance-review-a348080
The Mistress House is a truly delightful, romantic, historical read! Actually, it’s three stories that intertwine together, that all mesh perfectly, with in-depth relationships between the characters. Each story could stand alone, but at the same time, relates completely with each other. This is not an anthology, and in my opinion, that makes it much better because the same characters come into play throughout the book. One of the best historical romances I’ve read in a long while, I couldn’t put it down. I really enjoyed Ms. Michaels writing style and I look forward to her next book. This one’s a gem you’ll want to keep and read again and again! Rated 5 Delightful Divas by Shelly! --- http://www.darkdivasreviews.com/?page_id=2396
In a trio of connected tales in Leigh Michaels's delicious The Mistress'
House, three noble cousins find their matches in their mistresses.... Linda Banche -- Historical Hussies, https://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=7305640310502393746&postID=5742176674391201876
Leigh Michaels, author of over a hundred books, now brings her fans a new historical romance, The Mistress' House. What a light enjoyable story, full of humor, witty lines and lots of hot passionate romance. It's a book to make you smile, and it's hard to put down for sure. The Mistress' House is a delightful regency romance, with the Mistress House the common denominator for all three connected romances. Leigh's characters are vibrant, fresh, and feisty, with her Lords handsome and brimming with sexuality. The love scenes are sizzling hot!! Your dance card will be full with these sensual stories, but you will be extremely satisfied. A highly recommended romantic read! Reviewed by Wendy,

...I really enjoyed reading The Mistress' House; it was a lovely little romance novel... One of my top picks... Reviewed by Angela, http://theroyalreviews.blogspot.com/2011/02/mistress-house-by-leigh-micaels.html
I enjoy reading regency romance. It has held a special place in my heart for
years...and stories like this are the reason.
With characters that leapt off the pages, plots that sucked me in, and romance
that made my heart do a little flip...it was a total winner. Deliciously
decadent from start to finish. Emotional and fraught with heart tugging scenes.
Characters so real that I was sorry to see the stories end. My only saving grace
was that I will be able to visit them again as often as I want...and rest
assured that will be quite often.
Leigh Michaels wrote the book on romance — literally. Her book On Writing Romance is on the bookshelf of many budding authors, and The Mistress’ House proves she knows her stuff. Her likable characters and clever dialogue are fun, but what I liked best was the way she used the house to link the stories of three couples. It was like getting three books in one! Read it and enjoy! -- Kym, http://blogs.publishersweekly.com/blogs/beyondherbook/?p=2974
