Role Playing & The Setting

In general the setting is approximately what Europe might have been like during the Dark Ages (we have swords, bows and catapults), think Medieval Times. This is before the Renaissance or Discovery of the New World.

Player Input

We welcome your input. If you have any ideas for a story line, or a small plot-twist that will make channel life more entertaining in the channel, please don't hesitate to mention your thoughts to the Administration. Please note that Administration has ideas of their own and from others and your idea may not fit in at the moment and can be used later. This channel is in its formative stages and nothing is yet set in stone so please feel free to contact the Administration with your ideas and suggestions.

FAQ

IC is In Character. This channel is pretty much always IC, so when you enter you should assume play is in progress.

#Lands_End:OOC is the channel for those who just wish to chat. It is also a place to resolve most issues arising resulting from play or miscommunication between players.

OOC is Out Of Character. This means that you yourself are speaking, not your character. Since the channel is almost always In Character and OOC speech should be kept separate by placing your speech inside brackets of any kind. I use (( text )), I've seen others use ( and ), as well as < and >, but the style you use is up to you.

Our Other Channels

Slaves

The people with +s are slaves. This channel doesn't use the widely accepted convention in which a lowercase first letter in a nick indicates a submissive is (or that the Dominant is indicated by an uppercase nick). Instead when people sign up as a character they set themselves so that the bot will look to see if they're a slave, and then give them the + (mode +v). Alternately, if you don't want to sign up you can use the !slave trigger to make yourself known as a slave. If you find you don't like the response you can use the !slave trigger to remove yourself from the + list.

Where are the slaves for purchase?

Slaves turn up mysteriously and knowingly continuosly. After all slavery is legal here and they are in constant demand. Slaves that are brought in are generally kept at the slave pens inside the walled City of Paranor, a good distance from the auction block. They are kept there in pens or cages, if you wish, that have two sizes. The first ones are 5 feet long x 3 feet tall for smaller slaves or those the owner or Slavekeeper wish to have shackled on all fours. The others are vertical and allow the occupant minimal room to move by standing or sitting with their legs between the bars of the cage. They are in 10 columns of cages with 5 in each row. The Slavekeeper buys most slaves outright and you must bargain with him for a purchase. A few slaves will be held for consignment sales with a hefty commission to the Slavekeeper. When the Slavekeeper determines the need for a sale-at-large he posts notices for an auction and one is held on the auction block near the main maketplace in town. Slaves purchased will leave chained and must wear the collar of their new Owner.

Her Majesty also keeps similar slave pens at the castle. Negotiations for these slaves are held directly with her Majesty.

Be aware their are slavetraders that come into port to pick up slaves to resell elsewhere and bring those in they have captured and finished with and wish to sell for booty payment.

What This Channel Isn't

This is not a pickup channel. This means NO trolling! Horny net geeks (you know who you are) need not bother. Of course, if you're reading this you're probably not the kind to just enter and start trolling around for slaves, but this should be said.

All collars are In Character collars only (unless the players choose to take the relationship outside play). The point is, everyone is here for a good time with no strings attached, to make friends, share a laugh among other things, while attempting to keep their keyboards as clean as possible. If you're here to find a real life partner you're very likely looking in the wrong place.
