Role Play
The show
starts off with a sorcerer lying on the ground, he seems to have been knocked
out. As he awakens he finds that he is covered in a sticky substance of some
sort. Behind him sits a glowing treasure chest. He seems unsure of his
surroundings. As he stands, another character enters, a female warrior who
exclaims, "ah someone got here first." She introduces herself as
Mimiru and comments on the fact that he is a sorcerer with a large staff- and
that those are not very common. She assumes he is a strong sorcerer. As
she looks at his staff, he pulls out a small device and teleports out of the
area.
Next the sorcerer is sitting alone against a well. He talks to himself
saying that he did not know what he was doing, or where he was in fact.
From the horizon three heavily armored knights approach, and state they are not
there to fight. The leader says they are from the Thirteenth squadron of
the Scarlet Knights. He states "The Scarlet Knights value courage, passion,
and magnanimity. We were formed with the goal of helping people in 'The World.'
We constantly keep an eye on evil doings in "The World.'" They are
there investigating the fact that he was seen with a PC (a gaming term meaning
"player character") that looked like a cat, and that was against the
rules - and they would have to take care of it. The sorcerer recalls the
cat, yet can't remember who or what it was. The Knights claim they are
only looking for information, and will not cause any trouble. The sorcerer
once again warps out of the area, leaving the Knights to wonder, "Will we
need a monitor?"
The sorcerer appears near a warp gate- and right after him appears Mimiru.
She questions him about what he was doing, but with no answers. Finally he
speaks and tells her it won't matter once he logs out of the system.
Mimiru points out the he can't just do those sort of things and keep running
away from the Knights- his comment on that, "that will be fun in it's own
way" and walks away. As he walks back to the gate, Mimiru follows
him. As he tries to log out, he is refused and turns around and says to
her "I... don't like you" and once again warps away.
The young
sorcerer now is riding a Puchiguso, whom repeatedly runs into walls, prompting
him to say "your stupid." Next he is at a small pond, throws something
in, as a water sprite appears, and he attempts to attack it. He fails and finds
himself being laughed at by a buff male warrior. He introduces himself as
Bear, and says he does things like that too when irritated. As Bear is
talking to him- once again he warps out of the area. A female sorceress,
asking why he fled from battle, joins Bear. His asks if she is hurt and if she
wanted him to heal her- she states she's already done it.
Now in a city, with rivers running through it, a boat with a young girl,
carrying and axe and two small wings on her back, is talking to one of the
Scarlet Knights. They are discussing recent issues in "The World" and
problems that keep arising. As she moves down toward the center of the
boat, they pass the young sorcerer on the bank. When he sees they have spotted
him, he runs away.

Again the young sorcerer is at a warp gate, once again attempting to log out,
when Mimiru appears. They exchange glances, and then he finally speaks to her,
asking her if she was ever unable to log out.
She
is confused and tells him that she had logged out after their last meeting, and
was just now coming back on. He walks away from her, and she follows. She
asks him if he cannot log out- to which he only replies "maybe."
She says she's never heard of anything like that before- and asks him if he's
been up to unjust things- things that would get the attention of the Knights. He
tells her he doesn't remember. She says he'll prolly be ok if he does a
hard reset. He panics and tries to run away yelling not to meddle in his
affairs. Mimiru goes on about how the net and the real world are the same- and
the same manners apply. He once again tells her not to follow him around. He
tells her he'll ignore her if he sees her around. Mimiru hits him and smiles, as
he is about to cry, as she walks away saying "bye bye." He is left
alone, and says it hurts. He is confused and keeps saying "why?"
A
Scarlet Knight is accompanying the young girl with the wings and axe, they are
in the same area as Mimiru, she sees them and walks toward the gate. The
young girl is there to speak to a merchant, whom had called her.
Apparently there was a problem and she tells him it was the item's fault for the
data crash. The merchant tells them that his friend was careless, and that
the person his friend has traded the item with has messed with his source for
his character, giving him the face of a cat. The alerts the Knight as he
asks "Cat?"
The sorcerer now alone dragging his staff behind him in a cave recalls what
Mimiru said to him about doing a hard reset.
He
thinks to himself that he is not at a computer, that he has no computer to
reset, and that he still doesn't know where he is. We now see that he is
back in the same cave as where he first started, looking at the treasure box. He
recalls opening it and then something happening. As he nears the treasure
a small cat character appears floating above the treasure chest, undoubtedly the
PC the Knights are looking for. The sorcerer simply says "Maho."
The cat tries to open the chest as the sorcerer runs up to him, as the cat
disappears. He yells out to him "what should I do?" He opens the
chest and out of it comes a partial tablet that is glowing with a very bright
light. As he touches the partial tablet a voice speaks to him and says,
"I've been waiting for you... ...for a long time. I need you, just
like you need me. Let us walk together. So long as we walk together, I
will protect you." The table flashes, and then disappears.
As he walks out of the cave a Scarlet Knight at the entrance meets him.
He tells him that he has set up a barrier and that he will not be able to
escape. The sorcerer runs back into the cave as the Knight jumps and attacks
him. He repeatedly attacks, and the sorcerer keeps defending. The Knight asks
why he fled, and his answer is he thought it would be fun. The Knight
tells him that he will stop if he just tells him where the cat PC is. He
refuses. Finally the sorcerer is knocked out against a wall. As the Knight is
about to make the finishing blow, a large blob of a monster that looks like a
giant barbell, with a ring in the center, appears and knocks the Knight back.
The Knight comments on not knowing of a such a monster to exit, and then the
monster shoots a small stream of itself through the knight- and deletes the
character. The sorcerer stands and recalls the statement "So long as
we walk together, I will protect you."
The lone sorcerer now is sitting on the banks of the river in the city.
He thinks to himself that his IS here, and it's ok that he can't log out. It's
ok cause he won't have to return to that "shitty world." As a
small beetle comes running along, he stands and says "this is... not that
bad" right before he smashes the beetle with his staff- as he does so the
scene changes.
The real world- cars outside of a house, siren's from police cars are heard.
We see the interior of the home where a young child is lying unconscious on the
floor, as the camera pans across the floor to a pair of headphones, and all we
hear is static.
