Party
Tsukasa
and Aura, who seems to have awakened, runs around the forest laughing. Tsukasa
and Aura pauses for awhile, and Tsukasa says to himself, "I haven't run
this much for such a long time." Then he turns around and is about to
question Aura when he sees that she's gone. Then he sees her up in the
trees and smiles. Suddenly Aura comes down with a knife and stabs Tsukasa in the
chest with it. Tsukasa winces in pain, and sees Aura's face, which looks like an
adult with dark red eyes and a pink symbol on her forehead. Suddenly Tsukasa
wakes up and discovers that that was a dream. He looks at Aura, still floating
above the bed and sighs and smiles with relief. He looks in front of him and
sees Maha with a rose behind a floating door while it closes, with Tsukasa
looking on cluelessly.
Meanwhile Mimiru logs in and stretches her hands. Bear comes out and greets her
and talks a bit about how in his young days they would sometimes form a party (a
group). Then they go to someplace to wait for Tsukasa, who is late from taking a
nap. Mimiru asks Bear why he chose this event (mission or adventure), and he
replies that it doesn’t require any type of combat at all. Then Tsukasa
arrives, and Mimiru questions why he is late. Tsukasa slowly admits that he
can't keep track of time very well, and Bear says, "Well, for today let's
just get along."
Tsukasa, Mimiru, and Bear arrive at the entrance where a dwarf-like person asks
Mimiru if she is the leader, and she replies, "Yes." The person
explains that in the forest (or dungeon) that there are three different statues
that hold three different items, and that to complete the event the players are
to answer the questions or riddles given to them. The event can only be
attempted once and not a second time. Then he signs up the party and they head
in.
Sora and BT
are at a castle, and Sora asks, "So where is Tsukasa?" BT answers,
"He's probably in the event right now." Sora asks, "Why would he
do some low-down event like that?” and BT says that Tsukasa might've been
forced to try an event like that at least once. Sora complains that it's "cheaply",
and BT says, "So since I gave you the information, what're you going to
give me?" Sora says, "What do you want me to do?" BT asks the
same thing, and Sora says, "Then maybe I'll rush him." BT says,
"Do whatever you want, but even if you rush him up, you're not going to
find out anything about the 'Key of the Twilight.' I'll tell you that
much." Sora then says, "But rushing Tsukasa just might be fun."
Afterwards BT frowns and glances at him unapprovingly.
Meanwhile in the event, a different party is coming back from the challenge and
complains that it's impossible. When they meet up with Mimiru's party, they
complain a bit of it to them, and a member of the party tells them, "Good
luck with the challenge." As Mimiru's party goes, Tsukasa turns back and
smiles like a joker to the other party. They come to the first dungeon, which is
red and has a jackal-looking statue. Then it asks, "According to the Book
of Revelations (Christian Bible), part of the New Testament depicts John writing down the fate
of twelve people, what was the stone used on the Second Sabbath by the twelve
people? Alternative question is: What stone was used on the Second
Sabbath?" Mimiru confusingly asks, "What? The Second Sabbath?"
Bear just smoothly answers, "A purple crystal." The statue sinks down
slowly and a chest rises up in its place. Bear opens it and shows a purple
crystal pendant. Mimiru, amazed, asks, "Amazing, how'd you..." Bear
answers, "The Revelation part of the Bible indicates the birth of the
birthstones. Once you read it, it's all simple. The second stone would be the
birthstone of February, and therefore would be amethyst." Mimiru says that
its still amazing Bear knew it anyway, and asks if he ever went out with someone
born on February. Bear replies, "Nah, I have some dictionaries installed on
my PC. Once you type in 'birthstone,' you know right away." Mimiru says
that it's nifty, and Bear says, "You see? Wisdom and knowledge are two
separate things." Mimiru then asks, "What job do you have? Do you work
as a college professor or something?" Bear says, "Nope. I guess I can
give you one more chance." Mimiru frowns, and Tsukasa
just keeps on smiling.
They continue on in the forest, and Mimiru complains, "Geez, the
auto-mapping isn't helping at all." Bear says, "But it's also part of
the event, right? It's all right, I'll help out." Then Bear starts
discussing about before when 20MB hard drives were still considered huge. Mimiru
asks if that was the memory, Bear says at that time they thought it would last
them a lifetime. Mimiru says, "And that would be the same time when Tokyo
was called, 'Edo?'" Bear says, "Even so, that was 30 years ago."
Then he pauses and says that the mapping has come to its limit. Then Tsukasa
recognizes a statue and points out that they came by that mark before. Mimiru
agrees, and Bear asks to himself, "Huh? Did I make a mistake?" Tsukasa
smiles back and says, "It's no use."
They arrive at the second dungeon with a yellow-colored-king-like-statue with
his chin in his hand. Then he asks the question: "In a world where 1 is 2,
5 is 5 people, and 8 is 7, what is the answer when 331 x 3 is changed without
using the heavens and the earth?" Mimiru is confused again, and can't
figure out a thing. Tsukasa does the math of 331 x 3, but is also a little
confused. Mimiru tries to think out the number of 991 without doing ups or
downs, and comes up with,
"Taking
out 900 and 3 would mean 9? or 90? What's 90?" Bear turns down Mimiru's
result and says that it's a world where 1 is 2, 5 remains 5, and 8 is 7."
Mimiru says, "I don't get it since I'm pretty bad with math." Then on
a calculator-like system, the numbers form 158993. Mimiru asks, "Is 993
part of the table MERGE?" Bear says, "Yeah, it's a seven-segment
phrase." The statue impatiently wants the answer, and Mimiru hurriedly
says, "Wait, wait, what do you mean by 'no heavens and earth'?" Then
on the system the 993 turns around to get 366 (with the 3 turned around). Mimiru
says, "336? Damn, I don't get it at all." Then Tsukasa uses his staff
to write in the ground 366 with digital numbers, which look like the word
"egg". Mimiru says the answer to the statue and an egg appears in the
chest that came up. Bear then remembers that it had to do with a pager, and
Mimiru yells, "Then I obviously wouldn't have known at all!" Tsukasa
just smiles again.

Just then
Sora appears and yells, "Tsukasa, let's play! Oh where are you
hiding???" Some players walk away thinking Sora has gone mental or crazy.
Bear stops again and says that the paper stopped again. Then Mimiru asks
Tsukasa what his family does for a living, but Tsukasa remains silent. Cut to
the real world: A man is yelling fiercely and is reprimanding his child and
bangs a glass cup down on the table. Then the camera pans down a young child,
who is holding a pencil with a calligraphy book, and the child's hand shakes.
Cut back to the game: Mimiru gets her frustration of her dad off her chest,
thinking that he's being really perverted. Bear corrects that her father was
probably saying "etching," not "ecchi" (a word for pervert).
As Bear goes on a bit more about it, Mimiru gets pretty frustrated and changes
the subject by saying, "How's the paper doing?" Tsukasa points out
that they passed by a statue a while ago, and smiles at them saying,
"That's not doing any good."
They arrive at the third and final dungeon, with a winged-statue with a frog in
the front. He then asks, "Shirley and Jack are having illicit love, who is
their super-intendant?" Mimiru asks, "Illicit love? Are you sure that
sort of thing is appropriate for this type of game?" Tsukasa says,
"Easy like the last one." Bear and Mimiru don't know the answer
anyway, and Tsukasa does an example, and Bear now remembers, and says,
"Heh, 'Rome's Holiday,' William Wilder." He then says the answer, the
statue goes down, and the chest comes up with an egg stand in it. Mimiru asks
what was it supposed to mean, and Bear says, "Shirley was Shirley McLain,
and Jack was Jack Raymond. Basically the question was, 'Who was the director of
'The Apartment'?"
Bear says to Tsukasa, "You know these old films pretty well, huh?"
Tsukasa says, "My mom liked those weird movies, so sometimes in my leisure
I watched them..." Bear says, "Oh really?
Then
your mother must be about the same age as me." Then Tsukasa suddenly looks
panicked, and Mimiru says, "What's wrong? We got all the questions." Tsukasa slowly says, "Everyone is
so...irresponsible. Adults are just..." Meanwhile Sora is spying on them
form behind a wall, and whispers, "Tsk tsk, you're getting sick of it, too,
huh Tsukasa?" Tsukasa then continues, "Adults always do what's
comfortable for them. They'd always talk about themselves and that's it.
Everything we just say is...cowardly."Mimiru says, "Tsukasa, I kind of
object to that, but..." Then Tsukasa opens his eyes with the same panicked
look, and Mimiru continues, "It's only natural that adults are shameless.
Except we're pretty similar to them, right? Since we've become pretty smart
ourselves. And we're continuing to be even more smarter. I don't like that so
much, though." Then Tsukasa says, "She died..." Mimiru and Bear
are confused, and Tsukasa says, "My mother died alone." Bear gives
Tsukasa a look of dissatisfaction, and Mimiru says, "Well, should we do it?
We did come all the way here, after all. I hate quitting in the middle of
stuff."
She puts the egg and its stand together, and a bright light shines, with a
monster coming out of it. Then Mimiru says, "Okay, what's this part of
'requires no combat'? Bear, I'll leave it to you." Bear goes and tries to
attack it, but instead the monster has no wound.
Tsukasa just sarcastically
says, "Heh, do your best." Then Mimiru says, "What's with the
attitude?! We can't get the treasure if you won't stick with us." Tsukasa
just merely says that he doesn't want to, and Mimiru shouts, "What are you
saying?! We're a party, a PARTY!!" Tsukasa said, "I never wanted to,
you guys just dragged me into this." Mimiru then says, "You're
scared?" Tsukasa quickly tries to back it up and says, "It's not that,
it's just irresponsible. That's why I went." Then the monster prepares to
harm Tsukasa and Mimiru. Tsukasa quickly calls out his guardian and Sora says,
"Hey Tsukasa, you're amazing." Then he looks more carefully at the
guardian and grins to himself. The monster strikes Tsukasa down on the ground,
and Tsukasa says, "Ow, I hate these kind of things...protect me, that guy
should..." Mimiru interrupts and says, "Don't Tsukasa! you shouldn't
use it, put it away!" Tsukasa then protests, "Why? Why can't I use
it?" Mimiru replies, "We're a party, A PARTY! Playing this game,
whether you win or lose, it's just fun at least playing it, right?! If you use
that thing, that wouldn't that be..." She takes the amethyst pendant and
then finishes, "...the same as being cowardly?" Then she throws the
pendant at the monster's head and a bright light shines, everything blinded for
a second before stopping. Then
each of them gets a coin with the shape of the monster on it.
Tsukasa return's to Aura's domain, and puts the coin on her stomach, and taking
a few steps back. He smiles with satisfaction. Cut to the real world: the camera
nears a hospital, and then to a room with two men in it. One seems to be the
doctor and the other the father seen earlier in the previous flashback. The
doctor says, "You're telling me to cut the life support?" The father
says, "Yes, somehow...please do so." The camera pans up a person in
the hospital bed wearing an oxygen mask, then over a monitor, which is showing
signs of lower than usual health.
