Crim "The Red Lighting" is a character that just recently came back into "The World." His user was away in Indonesia apparently, or so he tells Subaru.  He and Subaru are the ones that created the Scarlet Knights (Crimson Knights) - Crim used to be one of the Scarlet Knights, yet dropped out for personal reasons..   

From what we see of him, he seems to be a good guy- and helps out Subaru.  He is a higher level character that has spent time growing and strengthening himself in battle.  Crim comes to "The World" to play and have fun, where he can forget about "rules and responsibilities.  Crim is very adamant about keeping the "real" world and "The World" two separate places.

**From the dothack website:  A former member of the Crimson Knights, this Long Arm used to frequently visit the "The World", but has only recently returned after a long absence. He is generally heroic but does not take the game too seriously, simply enjoying the action that swirls around Tsukasa. Crim and Subaru have a complicated relationship owing to unspoken incidents in their past together.
