Here's the pond in 1998, soon after we moved here and we'd done some work on it (like the headwall you see at the bottom).
Would you believe this is the same area? 8 years later - everything grew, including grass on the bottom of the shallow pond.
Here we have it - a new life for the old pond! Bigger & better!

The day after digging the pond - they're still doing some work, but already it's starting to collect water. (09-21-06)
Jonathan and Jess are measuring the pond here. It's an elliptical shape: 60' across, 190' long ways.
And now begins the "Stick Jess in the pond and see how deep it is" series. We had a little rain, but the spring is the main water source for the pond. (09-22-06)
Here it is October 10th, and the water is still rising.
Here on October 30th, is the last "Jess in the pond" picture, at least for 2006.
Two months after the pond was dug, November 20th, and the water is almost up to the outlet pipe in the back. We're thrilled it filled up so quickly!
