Oaken Grove of Erik
The Oaken Grove is the progressive wing of druidical organization. The Oaken grove contends that the Rjurik people have always retained their essential Rjurik character in the face of trade, interaction, and exchange with other peoples. Furthermore, change is a natural phenomena, and the Rjurik people must change over time while preserving their reverence for Erik. Progress in accord with Erik's teachings is not only possible, but its desirable and even neccesary. The Oaken Grove tends to support kings over eorls, the activity of conservationist guilders, and consideration of new ideas and new solutions to old problems. The Grove does not directly challenge the Emerald Spire for holdings, but rather tends to prosper where the kings are strong and the guilders are active. The Grove tends to be weak where the eorls are strong and the guilds excluded. The Oaken Grove is more open in its forms of worship and what it considers a sacred teacher. Unlike the Emerald Spire, which strongly adhears to one permissable kind of priest, there is greater diversity among the Grove. Nevertheless, all divine spellcasters in the service of Erik are called druids. The characters which follow are all members of the hierarchy of the Oaken Grove, though some may have loyalties to other institutions as well.
