Dhoesone

The realm of Dhoesone is one of crossroads.  Rjurik meets Anuirean, human meets elf, boreal meets northern plain.  In some respects, this is a strength.  The Baroness can raise Anuirean knights or Rjurik archers, and her court can call on the advice of Erik's druids or Haelyn's lawpriests.  In some respects. However, Dhoesone is more vulnerable to the stresses that can tear a realm apart.

The Baroness has been beset from the south by Mheallie Bireon, the powerful guilder and her allies, Larra Nielems of the Northern Reformed Church of Sarimie
, and Entier Gladanil the Count of Cariele.  Mheallie's Northlands Exchange is run locally by Gareth Cayne.  In the west, the Stjordvik Traders of Storm Holtson seek their own mastery of Dhoesone's guilds, independent of the Baroness.  Holtson relies on Óski Osricsson to manage his affairs in Dhoesone on a day to day basis.  Adaere Doneim runs a small guild in Dhoesone and Tuarhievel using his small size as an advantage to compete with the much larger Stjordvik Traders and Northlands Exchange.  Gaelin Thuried runs the Upper Anuire Traders and specializes in trading goods in Thurazor, maintaining only a few factors and agents in Dhoesone to purchase whatever the goblins will pay for.  Bannier Andien tries to run his guild in the old style, and gets squeezed as a result.  Aside from Andien, and to a lesser extent Doneim, the guilders put aside their mutual dislike of one another and their business rivalry to combine against the Baroness whenever she attempts to regulate commerce.

The local circles of Aeric
and the lawpriests of Haelyn have reasons to oppose the guilder Bireon and the Most Sacred Minister Nielems going back to Cariele.  Bjorhtwald Bjondrig is the Archdruid of Dhoesone. Cariele's exiled Archdruid, Euric Aelis, holds court as Bjorhtwald's welcomed guest. James Ardannt is the Chief Hierarch of Haelyn's Bastion of Truth.  Nielems' lieutenant, Darien Nolien is the Sacred Minister of the capital, Sonnelind.  Nielems is in Dhoesone fairly frequently, spending about half of her time in the realm.

The Baroness' two cousins, Clumine and Daeric, are both wizards, and split the sources among them. They do what they can to aid the Baroness and the realm without giving any advantage to each other.
