Rogue
1973 Glastron V-178
I've dicovered that three boats are not enough. Actually, they probably are, but Rogue's coming into my fleet was not my fault. My wife disagrees. Here is my defense:
Each day, I drive the 12 miles from where I live (Avon, Illinois) to where I work (Bushnell, Illinois), but early last Summer, something new appeared along this familiar route--a tri-hull runabout on a trailer with a big "For Sale" sign on the windshield. The problem was that I think those late '60's/early '70's tri-hulls were about the sharpest looking fiberglass powerboats ever made, and this was one of them.
Believe it or not, I resisted temptation for a considerable amount of time; perhaps a couple of weeks. But one day I stopped to look. And then I stopped again. And, well, you can guess what happened next.
Although Jubilee has been serving well in our Coast Guard Auxiliary work, we really have needed something larger and more powerful for a long time. When she is finally up to speed, I believe she will fit our needs perfectly.
She's an older boat, and has seen lots of service, but I enjoy working on boats almost as much as I enjoy taking them out on the water, so I really am looking forward to the years to come.
Here are a few photos of how she looked when I bought her:
