Writer

Since 1988, Walker has also written more than 2,000 articles for newspapers and magazines, including 200 first-person accounts of businessmen, professional athletes and others. He is a Contributing Writer for Answer magazine, published by Business Men's Fellowship of Oakland, California; writes a monthly column about marketplace ministry for the Southeast Outlook in Louisville, Kentucky; and is a regular contributor to national magazines and news services.

Award-winner

Over the years, he has won various news and feature writing awards. The latest was second place in feature writing in the 2004 Baptist Communicators Association Awards. Walker was part of a team that covered a missionaries' commissioning service for Kentucky's state Baptist newspaper. The same team won first place in feature writing in 2003 for coverage of Billy Graham's appearance in Cincinnati. Walker also won the 2000 Pacesetter Award at Mount Hermon, the nation's largest Christian writers conference.
