Step 2 - Applying a medium value wash

Next, I toned the fixed charcoal drawing with acrylic washes of phthalo blue and phthalo violet in a medium value. I used thin washes of these high staining, transparent colors to retain the tooth of the sanded painting surface and to avoid covering up my drawing.
