Near center of photo is the Grand Case Beach Club Resort, that stretch of four white buildings with the brick-red roofs at the foot of those steep hills behind them. It became our home away from home for those fifteen days we spent on St. Martin in June. At photo's right are a few of the hotels and restaurants located in the village of Grand Case, just a short walk from the GCBC.

A closer view of four GCBC buildings designated for its guests. Left to right respectively are the Flamboyant, Tamarind, Oleander, and Frangipani. Our ocean-view room was in the Oleander on the second floor. There is also a fifth smaller building called the Hibiscus located in the garden area. A part of its roof is visible in this photo behind the Flamboyant and Tamarind. At the far left, near the end of the beach, is a popular spot where we often relaxed on our beach chairs in the shade provided by the canopy of some Sea Grape trees.

A closer view of the Oleander. Our room was the fourth from right on the second floor. You can see just the top of a blue deck chair in the corner of our lanai. The lanai also had a small round table with a pair of chairs where Phyl and I sometimes ate our meals as we enjoyed the luxury of the ocean view and sunsets. Down below, near the top of the seawall, you can see Phyl on a deck chair, absorbed in one of her books.
