Our Last Day

Phyl sits upon the seawall near our hotel in Kailua-Kona gazing across Kamakahonu Bay. There would be no spectacular sunset on this eve. It was our last night on Big Island and the overcast sky seemed to fit our mood. The two weeks we spent there seemed to go too fast. I know I could easily have stayed another week or more, or maybe another lifetime. But nevertheless, after spending fourteen wonderful days in this tropical paradise, we both felt pretty good and not too glum about leaving. We were returning to Heaven after all!
