honest contentment replied:
"spent these long years
remaking my self,
reexamining my beliefs,
reforming my Soul—
again and again,
day upon day
—and coming to the conclusions,
odd as they may be,
that my only comfort comes
in this unending state of change,
which i am compelled to share with you;
and that my only fear is
the journey ceasing
(my life, my Soul, frozen
in static statuary)
and losing all i might one day
shout to the world." |
