Katrina
Here we are trying to look out the window during Katrina
August 26, 2005. Not a day that anyone will soon forget... Hurricane Katrina, category 4 (which they are debating on renaming a 5)
Katrina goes across lower Florida as a Category 1 then into the Gulf of Mexico where it increases to a Cat 5+.
After several different forcasts, finally Katrina decides to go north toward the New Orleans area. Even though we are over 100 miles away, Katrina is very large
and this puts us on the east side of the hurricane which is known to be the side that catches most of the high winds/tornadoes and high storm surges!!!
We came out very lucky on this storm!! Some branches down, lots of leaves, fence damage and a lot of cleanup....
