The business meeting began at 10:42 AM. Doug reviewed the minutes
from the October meeting. Scott has been very busy and did not have time
to promote the meeting as much as he would have liked. We still have not
received the by-laws back from national headquarters despite a couple of
e mail requests. Because of this we will again hold off on collecting dues
and electing officers. We will not have a December meeting and will resume
meetings again in January 2000.
Scott sent an e mail to the Central Iowa Chapter in reference to
helping them with programs and got an e mail back with wording to the effect
that they were not really interested in our help.
Lee brought up the topic of wanting information on the New Madrid
fault and this instigated interest in having a program on earthquakes.
Jeff knows some people at the USGS In Iowa City and will contact them to
see if we can arrange a program on earthquakes for the January meeting.
The tentative meeting date is January 22nd, probably in Iowa City. The
week of January 11th is the AMS Annual meeting so that week will be out.
The meeting adjourned at 10:55 AM. Minutes were complied by Doug
Beadle.
